So, almost 1000 miles into the trip and I’m right back where I started. We drove into DC, stopped by Kyle’s house for a minute, and then met up with my first Asian, Eric Tabeta.
First order of business was getting my hair situation addressed. Thanks to Jerry at the Hair Cuttery in Dupont Circle I now look like a cross between the lead singer of Maroon 5 and Spud from Trainspotting. And for only 27 dollars! So at least I have that going for me.
Later, Joseph ‘Mean Joe’ Gordon came over and the four of us partook in some all-you-can-bowl at Bowl America in Falls Church. Six games later, Eric had defied the odds and silenced his critics with an 81; Joe had staged an epic come from behind 183-182 victory; and, in the final game, I had come painfully close to my second 200 game, falling but one pin short.
After a stop at 7/11 for Liquid Artillery Slurpees, we went back to Eric’s to sleep – me on the floor and Kyle on an ottoman.
